Royalty & Commoner

(medieval, either low or high fantasy)

Kind of self explanatory, I'm a sucker for cliches and this is one of my favorites. I have a few characters in mind for this; one that isn't a magic user, and one that is. While I'd prefer to be in the royalty role, I'm flexible either way! Some ideas I have are:

  • Royalty escapes the palace for a breather from their responsibilities. Commoner discovers them, and helps the royalty keep a low profile and indulges in their adventurous side.

  • The kingdom is under siege. An enemy kingdom constantly attacks them, and the threat is clear; either the King surrenders their heir to an arranged marriage, or the kingdom will be another in their long line of conquest. For the sake of his kingdom, he surrenders. Part of the agreement is someone from the enemy kingdom is to escort his heir, and they agree; by sending a commoner to rub their victory in the king's face.

  • There's a lot of mystery behind the royal family. Being the most powerful sorcerers, their secrets are well kept, and hidden behind the shadows. They had many children, and many of them have vanished over the years. However, there are rumors that one of the older children was sighted at a local tavern. While there isn't any solid evidence, the bounty on the children is typically something commoners would find worthy of finding out if the rumors are true.

Bounty Hunter & Huntee

(either modern or medieval, either low or high fantasy)

I'll be honest, I'm not too sure about plot ideas for this one. However, this is a dynamic I really enjoy! I suppose a bounty hunter realizing the target is not a threat, and the contractor was trying to silence the leader of an underground rebellion. The sinners were not as evil as the hunter was lead to believe, and the saints weren't as holy as they made themselves out to be.
